Be sure to note a few difference between the packages:

​

1.  Some offer different equipment (Some include a stick, helmet and certain pads, where others include some, but not all).  

​

2.  The Cascade CPV-R helmet is for around 3rd - 8th grade and offers sizes (this is most likely what you will want).  The Cascade CS helmet is for K-4 and only offers one size.  Since we don't offer full padded K - 2 lacrosse, you probably will not want this helmet unless your child does not fit in the CPV-R.  As your child advances in the game and matures physically, Click Here for the next level of helmets.

Sticks -

None of the packages above offer "long pole" / defensive sticks.  Boy's defenders usually start using a defensive stick around 5th grade.  It is always helpful to have both a short, and long, pole when affordable.

Mouthguards must be VISIBLE to officials (no clear or white).  We recommend this mouth guard as it is easy to mold (contact them directly if you have braces) and thinner, which makes it easier to talk and breathe - SISU Mouthguard's

Footwear - 

Cleats can be football, soccer, or lacrosse specific.  No baseball (metal) cleats.  

Running shoes or Turf Specific shoes are safest for Turf.  Unfortunately, games can be played on both grass and turf during some seasons.

GIRL'S:

​

Girls Lacrosse Players do NOT need "padding".  Girl's lacrosse currently only requires goggles and a mouth guard as protection.  

​

WE RECOMMEND: This starter - intermediate stick and these goggles.  

While we don't recommend purchasing the very beginner sticks, we also don't feel purchasing the highest end stick is necessary either, at least at first.  We do NOT recommend purchasing any head that is strung with any of the four "columns" attached directly to the top of the head... this is the challenge with most beginner sticks.  Instead, you want a string running across the top that connects the "4 column strings" to the plastic, which is the case for the stick package we recommend above.  

As you advance, while you can interchange "Heads" and "Shafts", it is very important that they fit together properly, as unfortunately, many do not and many stores will sell them to you incorrectly if they are not bought as one full stick.  Just be aware!

Sticks are pretty much sold in one size.  For younger / smaller players, there is a minimum length they can be cut down to, which is 36" (this can be done quick and easily with a cheap handsaw).  If you cut it down, they may eventually grow out of it, but the exact time line of that is on an individual basis.  If that turned out to be about 2 years and it may be time for a new stick by then, or with the type of stick we recommend, you can currently replace the shaft only.  The technology of sticks is evolving, but the stick in the "step up" package recommended is much better than a beginner stick and can grow with a player through an intermediate level.  When your player is fully committed to the game and playing at an advanced level, that would be the time to step up to an advanced, more expensive, stick.
